Outlet Shopping and Nature, The Best of Both in Karuizawa

Karuizawa has the best of both worlds: beautiful, breathtaking nature, and stylish restaurants and outlet shops. Browse the popular Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza for bargains, walk the tree-lined streets, and pop in quaint cafes. Or take a bicycle out for a spin, go on a hike, take a bus to breathtaking waterfalls, soak in a natural hot spring. Whether you are a nature lover or a shopping fiend, you will find something you love in Karuizawa.

Stay in a Private Log House at Logtei

Logtei is a log house accommodation in Karuizawa. It is a private, six-cabin sanctuary. Be transported to a forest wonderland in the cozy, warm cabins scented with a woody log aroma enveloped by serene woods. Each cottage has its own private surroundings so you can enjoy your own space without being disturbed by other guests. And as there is a restaurant on-site, guests can stay without leaving the premises, if they want to!

As you enter the cottages, you are greeted with the scent of the forest. The cottages are comfortable and welcoming, with all the amenities you would need. A TV, toilet, bath/shower, fridge, microwave, and other amenities such as a hairdryer, toothbrush, shampoo, and towels are available in all rooms. The Family Cottage Deluxe also has a kitchen. Different size cottages accommodate couples, families, and in the Center Cottage, a group of 10! Choose your cottage according to your group size and availability. All the rooms have a bathroom, but for an even more relaxing soak, all cottages can rent the private, larger family bath, and Center Cottage users can use the stone bath to relax after a day of shopping or hiking.

What is the best thing about Logtei?

What makes Logtei the place to stay for an unforgettable holiday?

Have a “Wacation” in Your Private Cottage

Enjoy the flexibility, freedom, and privacy of your own cottage with amenities. With excellent Wi-Fi and a comfortable, quiet, private space, Logtei is perfect for the new trend: the “wacation” (ワーケーション). A wacation or work-cation is doing remote work in a vacation setting. Mix-up, your surroundings, try a new view and get your creative juices flowing. Then after your workday has finished, you can enjoy sightseeing! As the cottages are private, you can enjoy your own space and reduce contact with other guests and staff, a common worry during COVID-19 times.

The Convenience of Logtei

Fuse a shopping trip with nature! Visit nearby outlets and boutiques, and enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and birdwatching.

You have quick, easy access to and from your own cottage. It’s close to Tokyo and easy to get to from the station. You can access other locations nearby in Nagano from your base at Logtei for a day trip to make your holiday even more special.

Why is the Location so Great?

Because it’s only 400 meters (a 5-minute walk) from Naka-Karuizawa station in Karuizawa Town, it’s straightforward to get to. If arriving from JR Karuizawa Station, it takes 8 minutes by car or taxi, and if you ask ahead in advance, the house staff will pick you up from the station and transport you to Logtei. Once you get there, it’s easy to get around Karuizawa by public transport or bicycle. You can rent a bicycle from various rental shops, and the topography is fairly flat without many hills, so even the inexperienced cycler can get by.

Logtei is convenient, just 10 minutes away from popular shopping outlets and natural hot springs. The picturesque tree-lined Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street is nearby with its many cafes and boutiques. A 20-minute walk can take you to Hoshino Onsen and Harunire Terrace, a riverside site with eateries and small shops. Or take in some art at The Museum Of Contemporary Art. Check out the Kumoba Pond near the JR Karuizawa Station and see the trees’ reflection across the water. Hop on a bus to Shiraito Falls, known as the “White Thread Falls.”

Logtei at Karuizawa can be used as a base for other trips in the area. From Karuizawa, you can travel to other famous areas of Nagano Prefecture. Take a day trip to Jigokudani Yaen Koen to see the famous bathing snow monkeys, Nagano City for Zenkoji Temple, or Matsumoto for Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan’s most beautiful castles.

A Feast at Logtei’s Restaurant

Logtei’s restaurant is a BBQ restaurant specializing in meat dishes such as yakiniku, sukiyaki, and shabu-shabu prepared with delicious wagyu beef.

The restaurant has been re-arranged with social distancing in mind so you can dine without being worried about the proximity to other guests. You can book your room with or without meals, and if you reserve breakfast, you can choose from an a la carte menu, eat what you want!
