Cinta Jawa Cafe (Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa)

With multiple branches operating throughout Tokyo, Saitama, and Kanagawa, Cinta Jawa Cafe is the first restaurant we recommend! With five stores across these three prefectures, Cinta Jawa Cafe combines authentic flavors with excellent quality.
Known for its bold home-style Indonesian cuisine, Cinta Jawa also boasts a lively atmosphere, with shops often filled with Indonesian and Japanese guests. With locations in popular areas such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, Omiya, and Yokohama, Cinta Jawa Cafe is one of the most accessible Indonesian restaurants in the Kanto area. However, some branches can get quite crowded due to their popularity, so we recommend going at a nonpeak hour to avoid queue times.
For food recommendations, we highly suggest their Bebek Goreng (Fried Duck) and Sate Kulit Goreng (Fried Skin Skewers) as our favorite picks from their extensive menu! Main dishes range from around 1,000-1,500 yen, combining quality with high affordability!

Initially started operating in Hachioji, Kuta Bali Cafe has also expanded its operations to its new store in Harajuku, bringing even more accessibility to lovers of Indonesian cuisine! Kuta Bali Cafe brings authentic flavors focused on Balinese and other classic Indonesian dishes. Through the bold flavors and various items on its menu, Kuta Bali Cafe will satisfy your cravings!
With friendly servers and many Indonesian diners, Kuta Bali Cafe will immediately make you feel like you’re in Indonesia right away. From their menu, we highly suggest their Nasi Campur (Mixed Rice), which contains an assortment of menu favorites, and their Ayam Betutu (Balinese-style Chicken) as standouts! Their main dishes also range from around 1,000-1,500 yen, a perfect cost-performance ratio! They also sell some Indonesian products and snacks in their Hachioji branch, so make sure to take a look while you’re there!

Dapur Sunda (Saitama)

Just a bit outside Tokyo, Dapur Sunda is a cozy mom-and-pop shop near Kawagoe Station in Saitama. Bringing authentic cuisine straight from Indonesia, the restaurant offers aromatics and rich flavors to a whole other level.
One of their standout dishes is their Ayam/Bebek Goreng Bumbu Hitam, a flavorful black spice-seasoned chicken or duck dish that perfectly combines sweetness, saltiness, and spice. But here’s the secret – our favorite dish isn’t even on the menu! The Ayam/Bebek Goreng Bumbu Hitam (Fried Chicken/Duck with Black Spice Seasoning) is a secret menu item we love! Limited-time specials and new items like this dish are always introduced on their Instagram, so be sure to look! Main dishes range from around 1,200-1,600 yen, packing a ton of flavor at an affordable price!
The restaurant also boasts an offering of Indonesian products and snacks for you to enjoy both while dining and at home, so be sure to pick something up while you’re there!
Since Dapur Sunda is a small family-run business, it’s highly recommended that you call ahead to confirm reservations and check their opening hours. They also regularly update their Instagram with schedule changes and other information, so be sure to check before visiting!
