Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbou-Park (Ikebukuro)

The Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbou-Park is the first hidden gem in our list, located right in the heart of Ikebukuro. Residing in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City Mall, you can take a quick detour or spend the entire day soaking up beautiful views from the observatory.

Unlike other observatories, it also operates as a park, with grass-like areas to sit around while enjoying the atmosphere from high up. The observatory provides free sheets and blankets to visitors, offering a cozier and comfortable time for all. The observatory also has a cafe for visitors looking to grab a bite or drink, ensuring a happy tummy during your time there. Between the large seating areas, the observatory also has an exhibition area that features different installations that change throughout the seasons.

To enter the beautiful observatory, you will only need to pay around 700-1200 yen, which can grant you access for the entire day. Almost too good to be true! The observatory is filled with art, photographs, and interesting exhibitions, and the breathtaking views alone can provide you and your date with a memorable experience. We recommend visiting between 4 and 5 p.m. to take in both the evening and nighttime skyscape! Definitely one of our favorite date spots!

Green Springs (Tachikawa)

A bit further out from the city, the Green Springs shopping mall in Tachikawa provides a unique alternative for those who want a more outdoorsy adventure.

The shopping mall is equipped with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, making sure that there’s something for anyone to enjoy. The springs boast a 10,000m2 open area, with the largest entertainment area in Tama, where shows are often held.

Not only that, the Springs also have a hidden gem that not many know about. As night falls, the seating area beside the hall is illuminated with soft blue lights and running water, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere for you and your date. Spending the day shopping, eating, enjoying a show, then topping it all off with a quiet and romantic time surrounded by water and beautiful lights, what could be better? Well, we’ll tell you what! The luxurious Sorano Hotel is also connected directly to the Springs, providing travelers with a comfortable area to cherish the last moments of the day in. Entering the Springs itself has no cost, and can be a perfect day trip for anyone looking for a memorable experience. Definitely a great date spot!

Tokyo Dome City (Korakuen)

Serving not only as the largest indoor Baseball stadium in the world, the Tokyo Dome located in Korakuen also serves as an entertainment complex, also known as Tokyo Dome City. The Dome hosts various events, from exciting baseball matches to ground-shaking concerts from international stars. Still, everything on top of that is what makes it a perfect date spot for those looking to have fun.

The dome boasts a shopping complex with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes. But what makes it special is the different thrilling attractions that lay right beside the stadium. Tokyo Dome City offers a miniature amusement park filled with different attractions, combined with the convenience of a shopping mall, all while being in the heart of Tokyo. Entry to the city is completely free, while tickets for attractions start from 500 yen. They also offer one-day passports for those who want to enjoy everything the Dome has to offer, starting from 4,500 yen for adults. From fast and thrilling roller coasters to the slow and romantic Ferris wheel, the Dome provides a variety of spots to make your date memorable. It’s definitely one of the best date spots in Tokyo, and it’s perfect for you!
