Pet-Friendly Hotels to Spend Time Away with Your Pet

Village Izu Kogen (Ito, Shizuoka)

Renewed in 2021, one of the three buildings that make up Village Izu Kogen is exclusively for guests who want to stay overnight with their dogs. The facility also has a large dog run where you can play with your dogs and they are free to run around without a leash. More rooms have been added for you to enjoy your resort stay with your dog.

Ace Hotel (Kyoto)

Ace Hotel in Kyoto is the regional Japanese branch of an artsy hotel company where pets are considered precious members of the family. You can reserve a room that allows you and your dog to stay together. All dog-friendly rooms are equipped with a range of amenities to give you the most comfortable stay, such as: cookies made by a pastry chef, dog beds, food and water bowls, toiletries, deodorant spray, sterile wet wipes, humidifying air purifier, hair remover cleaners. The receptionist is available to offer information on nearby salons, restaurants, and cafes where you can enter with your dog and other places where you can spend time with your dog.

You’ll need to pay a fee of 14,300 yen per dog per night (tax included), and a maximum of two dogs (under 15 kg of weight) per room can stay together. As a measure to ensure all guests’ safety, proof of rabies vaccination is needed, and you will also have to sign a liability waiver upon check-in.

Dogs can stay free of charge, or a separate fee of 2,200 yen could be charged, depending on the plan.

All rooms have a private and separate dog run, so even dogs that do not get along with other ones will be able to run around freely.

The dog-friendly suites are equipped with signature Sheraton amenities, both for humans and non-humans. The latter include dog beds, mats with food bowls, and an in-room dining menu that was created specifically for dogs.

A dedicated dog lounge and dog-friendly rooms are available to ensure comfort and provide convenient services at every point of the stay. A dog cabin service from 9 AM to 9 PM is provided if you need to leave your dog for a short time when you go out.
