Ikebukuro Parco Aloha BBQ Beer Garden

Are you already thinking about how you will get away from Tokyo’s hot summer? Do you long for a tropical atmosphere but don’t have a lot of money to spend on a full-on vacation outside of Japan?

Fret not, Aloha Beer Garden is there to save the day. Pay a set price and dive into an all-you-can-eat BBQ and all-you-can-drink paradise on a building rooftop right in the heart of Tokyo.

Let me introduce you to this glorious place!

Location

Whether you are going out on a date or with a group of friends, this restaurant is suitable for all kinds of occasions. And very central and easy to reach.

Hop off the train at Ikebukuro Station and head to the 8th floor of PARCO, the shopping center located right where the station is.

If you are inside the station, you will find the entrance to the shopping center right in front of Edy’s Bread CAFE.

Otherwise, take the East Exit, make a right, and you will find the entrance just a few steps away.

Now that you found it, take the elevator and get off on the 8th floor, take the stairs to go to the Roof where the restaurant is and…

Welcome!

Now let’s see what the place looks like.

Atmosphere

First things first. Before you go outside where the seatings are, you are first greeted by Aloha’s friendly staff dressed in Hawaiian shirts who will ask you what BBQ plan you would like to choose.

There are 2 options you can choose from:

2 hours → 3980 yen / person
3 hours → 4480 yen / person

Each one includes all-you-can-eat BBQ and some side dishes (more on this later), as well as all-you-can-drink alcoholic beverages and/or soft drinks. You can’t go wrong.

The restaurant is a very nice open area hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city, being located on top of a building away from the busy streets.

If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy a homey tropical atmosphere along with good food, well, you found it.

Depending on the time and the day, the restaurant may liven up. Come at peak times for more action and you will have some serious fun time!

Anyway, once you’ve paid at the entrance, the staff will then walk you to your table, the grilling station that you will not easily want to leave. Let’s see what the menu has to offer!

Food and Drinks

飲み放題メニュー : All-you-can-drink menu

Yes, there are many options. And yes, you can get as much as you want for no additional fees. Let me explain how the ordering system works.

If you want to get a beer, go ahead and grab one by yourself. The beer section has a self-service system.

Grab a bottle, use the bottle opener right next to the bucket, leave the cap there and enjoy your beer.

If you are going for draft beer (right next to where the bottles are), simply put your glass under the tap, push the button above it and let the machine do its job.

Impressive. Thanks Japan.

If you are not a beer person and would rather get other drinks, push the button on the device that has the number of your table on it and wait for someone from the staff to come take your order!

Now on to the food options!

The BBQ all-you-can-eat menu consists of some vegetables, yakisoba, and different kinds of meat: pork, beef, lamb, and chicken, some of which dressed in sauces, pepper, and other spices. You can also dress the meat yourself using a selection of sauces that will be ready at your table.

From left to right:

  • タッカルビ (takkarubi) : Korean spicy sauce
  • ジンギスカン (jingisukan) : Usually used for the lamb
  • BBQ sauce
  • 焼きそば : Yakisoba sauce

Side dishes include the following: fresh and crispy french fries, kimchi, edamame and curry rice!

Everything is 食べ放題 (tabehoudai), all-you-can-eat, within the time limit you selected, with last orders ending 30 minutes before the deadline.

Once you’ve ordered everything you wanted to eat, start digging in!

If you need help with anything, just ask someone from the staff and they will be happy to give you a hand.

Want more meat? Push the button on the device on your table, the same one I mentioned you should push for drinks, and wait for someone to come.  Give them the empty plate and wait for it to come back with a refill of the same meat that used to be on that plate! Eat, wait, refill, repeat. As many times as you want.

TIP: take advantage of all the oil and grease released by the meat on the griller and cook your yakisoba at the very end of the feast. Take some yakisoba sauce ( 焼きそば ) from the sauces station and pour some on the yakisoba while you’re cooking it!

Flavor bomb guaranteed.

When you’re done with all the salty stuff, or if you have a sweet tooth and feel like having dessert in the middle of the barbecue, feel free to order some SHAVE ICE.

There’s no better remedy against a hot day and it’s a very refreshing option after a salty meal like BBQ!

Events Hosted

Well, in case you were wondering Aloha Beer Garden does have more to offer. If you check their events schedule on their website and plan ahead you can have the opportunity to enjoy live events while you are eating! From time to time, Aloha Beer Garden hosts entertaining Hawaiian shows such as Hula and Tahitian dances.

Something you definitely shouldn’t miss that will take you outside of Japan for a couple of hours!

Whether you are looking for a great place to go on a date, or want to have a grand old time with a group of friends, Aloha Beer Garden will suit both occasions. If you want to take a break from the busy life that Tokyo forces its inhabitants to live, but don’t feel like going too far away from it, here you have the perfect solution.

The meat and the rest of the food is of really good quality and there is a great variety of drinks you can choose from. Grab a seat, take in the tropical atmosphere, and make yourself at home. This Hawaiian oasis is waiting for you!

Great food, good vibes, friendly staff, ideal location.

What are you waiting for? Enjoy!
