Asian Journeys in a Museum: a Fantasy Zoo Exhibition

This year’s theme for the Tokyo National Museum’s “Journey Through Asia at the Tokyo National Museum” annual autumn event is “Mythical Animal Wonderland”, now in its eighth year.
Now in its eighth year, the exhibition this year will focus on imaginary animals, which are a large part of Asian sculpture. The exhibition will introduce a variety of unique animals, from familiar creatures such as dragons and qilin to unidentified animals.

For the first time in two years, Osaka’s “551 HORAI” and other popular foods from all over Japan will be gathered at Matsuzakaya Ueno. The food festival is back and will feature 15 new delicious brands.
There will be a large selection of classic and popular gourmet foods from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Buy seafood, meat, and ekiben bento boxes, popular sweets and more!

Kuma Kengo: Five Puur-fect Points For a New Public Space

Date: 18 June ~ 26 September 2021

Don’t miss the last few days of the Kengo Kuma’s exhibitions, shown through architectural models and photographs. Kengo Kuma is one of Japan’s leading contemporary architects, the designer of the V&A Dundee and the National Stadium, both selected by TIME magazine as one of the 100 best places to visit in the world in 2019.
This exhibition uses models, photographs and mock-ups (full-scale parts) to introduce 68 of Kuma’s buildings from around the world, categorised according to his five principles of “hole”, “particle”, “slant”, “softness” and “time”.
