We at Guidable are looking for an intern to join our team, and work closely with the Editor in Chief of the Guidable website! You will help nurture the Guidable audience by writing compelling articles and promoting them using social media. You will also create social media posts (Instagram posts, reels, stories etc.) and use other marketing tools such as email magazines to nurture our customer following.

Japanese Practice & Translation:

At Guidable you can practice your Japanese with colleagues, and gain experience in translation through various translation tasks for the whole Guidable company.

Writing & Proofreading:

One of our main tasks is writing articles from the Guidable.co website. We’re looking for people who enjoy writing and have an enthusiasm for researching Japan and sharing this research with others through our articles. Do you want to help give essential information to other international residents in Japan, and share your experiences while living here? You’ll soon become a pro at writing, editing, and proofreading!

Social Media:

Would you like to learn about content creation, social media marketing, and web media site promotion? You will learn this and more in our flexible and friendly company in Shinjuku. In our team, we don’t just write articles. A large part of your job will be to engage with our social media community through creating content (image posts, graphics on Canva, reels for Instagram, etc) and conversing via messages and comments.

As we are a start-up company you will have the opportunity to learn quickly, and implement your own strategies and ideas! If this sounds like something you are interested in, we would love to hear from you!

Some of the weekly tasks in our team include:

– Creative composition and promotion of Guidable web media articles
– Composing social media content (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube) and engaging with users to maintain and build customer following
– Connect with Guidable readers through other marketing tools such as email magazine marketing
– Participate in creating marketing plans and strategies
– Editing articles with precise grammatical care
– English proofreading for other Guidable team projects when necessary
– Translation (English↔︎Japanese) projects within the company and for our clients

Main Requirements

Here are some of the main requirements, check out the job posting for more!

□　Native English is required – you must be able to edit and proofread articles in English
□　Japanese reading and writing level: N2 – (there will be opportunities to use Japanese such as translation, translation proofreading, and speaking to colleagues)
□　You must have a visa that allows you to work in Japan (Student, Humanities, Spouse, Dependant etc).
□　Must be able to work at least 4 days per week, 4 hours per day
