1. Roppongi Hills Winter Illumination & Christmas Market

This is known as the most prominent tree decoration along the streets of central Tokyo. The beautiful lights illuminate the streets as the sun goes down, for a beautiful Christmas view.
Keyakizaka Street is the leading destination for this whole winter illumination and is the best place to take a that fantastic illumination shot.
It’s said that Roppongi Hills Winter Illumination uses around 700,000 LED lights under different tones of a snowy blue theme.
You can enjoy the Tokyo Tower light-up, or Roppongi city view as your photo background to maximize your desired winter shots.
In the same area, there is a Christmas market during the season. The Christmas market is located at Oyane Plaza, Roppongi Hills, and is popularly known as the oldest Christmas market in town.
The winter illumination started in early November of 2021 and will end at the beginning of 2022. At the same time, the Christmas market will only be available around Christmas day.
2. Hibiya Tokyo Christmas Market
Since it started in 2015, the locals favor Hibiya Christmas Market to enjoy the European-style adaptation of western-like seasonal activities.
Most of the decorations and merchandise are imported from Europe, to make you feel like inside any Christmas-themed movie.
It’s as if you are transported into the world of beautiful Christmas movies, making the time you spend with your loved ones even more special. There will also be a lot of good spots to take pictures for your social media!
Hibiya Christmas market has a wide selection of foods you can enjoy while looking at the fantastic surroundings.
Hibiya Christmas Market is located at Hibiya Fountain Plaza and will be around from 10 December to 25 December 2021.
3. Yebisu Garden Place
Yebisu Garden Place usually holds a wonderful Christmas market but it is unclear yet whether there will be a market this year in 2021. We recommend you check online before going.
The following recommendation is one of the most famous winter illumination destinations in Tokyo, showcasing the world’s largest Baccarat chandelier.
The chandelier will always be iconic for the Yebisu Garden Place Christmas market. You can find it every day, displayed in a stunning glass case.
Yebisu Garden Place has a romantic ambiance to enjoy with your loved ones, a special winter wonderland.
If you want to see Tokyo’s most wonderfully decorated Christmas tree, pop into The Westin here in Yebisu Garden Place. The Christmas tree here looks just like something from Home Alone, and is something you just cannot miss!
Yebisu Garden Place will hold winter illuminations from 13 November to 10 January 2022, but the Christmas market information is still unclear.
Here, you will also find the mesmerizing Christmas market in the European style, which is a perfect combo for you to spend your Christmas with. There will be a lot of French-style merchandise and home-baked gingerbread man cookies.
Yebisu Garden Place is located in Ebisu, and it opens every day from 7 AM – 12 AM.
4. Yokohama Redbrick Warehouse

The last one is not in Tokyo, but located near Tokyo and can be reached within 1 hour from the city center.
The Christmas Market in Yokohama mainly focuses on drinks and food festivals instead of decoration. However, you will still feel the sensation of the European-style Christmas market at its finest.
The Redbrick Warehouse itself is popularly known as the go-to place in Yokohama for sightseeing, especially during the Christmas market time, it will be absolutely perfect!
Yokohama Redbrick Warehouse Christmas will be held from 26 November to 25 December 2021.
There will also be an ice skating rink, you can do it all at this Christmas event!
